With the impending digital SAT just around the corner, we're in full gear revamping our curriculum to align seamlessly with the new era of standardized testing. During this revamp of our SAT test we will still be offering our full ACT test prep courses. Everything's changing when it comes to testing, and it's confusing, overwhelming, and, let's admit it, feels like a bit of a mess. The SAT is evolving rapidly, and we understand the confusion surrounding this shift. That's why we're working diligently to update our materials to ensure you're well-prepared for the changes coming in 2024.
But in the meantime we want to offer some helpful resources to guide you through this next phase.
Key Dates: Digital SAT Nationwide Launch and ACT's Digital Platform
Mark your calendars! College Board recently released the first round of scores for the Digital PSAT, paving the way for the nationwide rollout of the Digital SAT on March 9th next year. Meanwhile, the ACT is testing its own digital platform for the December 9th test. The testing and admissions world is more chaotic than ever, and we're here to help you navigate the uncertainties.
Demystifying the Adaptive Test: What You Need to Know
The adaptive test introduces a new dimension to your test-taking experience. Wondering how it works? Students tackle one section of Reading/English and one section of math. Based on their performance, they are then presented with an easier or more challenging version in the second section. We've got the inside scoop on how to make an educated guess about the difficulty level you faced.
Deciphering Your PSAT Score: Making Sense of the Adaptive Test
Why can't you see which questions you got right or wrong on the PSAT? The simple answer: an adaptive test doesn't fit the traditional mold of a right/wrong tally. We break down the reasons, including the use of Item Response Theory (IRT) to scale exams. Understand how your score is determined and why College Board keeps some questions under wraps.
What to Expect and How to Prepare
Considering the SAT or ACT? We provide a handy guide to help you decide. If you found certain elements easy or challenging on the PSAT, we'll help you match your preferences to the right test format.
PSAT Scores: A Roadmap to Success
Your PSAT scores can be a crystal ball for your future test performances. We've correlated PSAT scores to their approximate equivalents on the ACT, giving you a clearer picture of where you stand.
Adapting with the Times: Our Future-Ready Approach
As tests continue to adapt, so do we. Our entire PSAT/SAT program is undergoing a transformation into a fully digital platform, set to be released in June 2024, just in time for your summer test prep. In the meantime, our ACT 5.0 launches on January 1, 2024, offering a self-guided and customizable test prep experience.
